Spirit AeroSystems Posts Q2 Loss - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Spirit AeroSystems Holdings, Inc. (SPR) Monday reported second-quarter loss of $209 million or $1.47 per share, compared to a profit of $35 million or $0.24 per share in the same period last year.

On average, 11 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.50 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues increased 13 percent to $1.52 billion from $1.34 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $1.48 billion.

Cost of sales increased to $1.69 billion from $1.16 billion last year. Operating expenses totaled $1.76 billion, up from $1.26 billion last year.
