Southwest Securities' Taxable Fixed Income Division Welcomes Joseph M. Tamburo to Lead U.S. Agency Trading

DALLAS, Aug. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Southwest Securities, Inc. announced today that Joseph M. Tamburo has joined the company's taxable fixed income division in New York City as Senior Vice President, Head of U.S. Agency Trading.

Mr. Tamburo brings more than 24 years of experience in the taxable fixed income business to his new role with Southwest Securities, most recently with Seattle-Northwest Securities Corporation where he served as vice president, trading and underwriting callable agencies and opened that firm's New York City office.

"His experience and successful record in the industry will play an important role in expanding our agency sales and trading efforts."

Mr. Tamburo began his career at Discount Corporation of New York and was later named head of agency trading and underwriting for Zions First National Bank. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2006 and also worked for Macquarie Capital, Inc., where he managed a sales and trading team focused on U.S. treasuries, agencies and government guaranteed bonds.

Mr. Tamburo earned a BBA in finance from Hofstra University in New York and has completed coursework in credit derivatives at New York University.
