Silicon Labs Q4 Profit Edges Down, But Revenues Beat; Sees Q1 Earnings In Line
(RTTNews) - Silicon Laboratories Inc.'s (SLAB) fourth-quarter net income decreased to $10.02 million or $0.23 per share from $10.64 million or $0.24 per share in the same period last year.
Adjusted net income for the quarter was $24.46 million or $0.57 per share. On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.47 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues for the quarter increased to $161.95 million from $146.24 million a year ago. Analysts expected revenue of $157.93 million for the quarter.
For the first quarter, Silicon Labs expects revenue in a range of $156 million to $162 million and anticipates another record in its Broad-based products. The company forecast first-quarter earnings per share between $0.08 and $0.14 on a reported basis, and between $0.42 and $0.48 on an adjusted basis.
Analysts expect the company to report earnings per share of $0.44 for the quarter on revenue of $154.25 million.
This week, Silicon Labs announced its acquisition of Bluegiga, a Finland-based provider of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless modules and software. The company expects the acquisition to be accretive to 2015 adjusted earnings.
Mooreland Partners, a global technology-focused M&A advisory firm, said in a separate statement that it acted as the sole financial advisor to Bluegiga on its sale to Silicon Labs.
