Sigma-Aldrich Corporation Reveals 5% Retreat In Q3 Bottom Line

(RTTNews) - Sigma-Aldrich Corporation (SIAL) reported a profit for third quarter that lost ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its profit came in at $121 million, or $1.00 per share. This was down from $127 million, or $1.06 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.06 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 1.9% to $703 million. This was up from $690 million last year.
