Shaw Communications Q2 Profit Declines - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Canadian communications and media company Shaw Communications, Inc. (SJR, SJR.B.TO) reported second-quarter net income attributable to equity shareholders of C$163 million, or C$0.34 a share, down from C$215 million, or C$0.46 a share, last year.

On average, ten analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.39 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Consolidated revenue for the latest second quarter was C$1.34 billion, up 4.9% from C$1.27 billion in the comparable quarter last year. Wall Street expected revenue of $1.35 billion.
