Sensex, Nifty Modestly Higher In Early Trade

(RTTNews) - Indian shares were modestly higher on Monday despite mixed cues from global markets.

The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 185 points, or 0.2 percent, at 81,391 in early trade, while the broader NSE Nifty index edged up by 59 points, or 0.2 percent, to 24,954.

Bajaj Finance and Bajaj FinServ both were up around 2 percent while HCL Technologies, Eternal, Axis Bank and TCS all traded up over 1 percent.

Kotak Mahindra Bank rallied 1.5 percent, HDFC Bank rose half a percent and IndusInd Bank added 0.7 percent after releasing their business updates for the July-September quarter of fiscal 2026.

Infosys gained half a percent after announcing its collaboration with Telenor Shared Services (TSS).

Avenue Supermarts (DMart) fell nearly 2 percent after releasing its Q2 business update.

Lupin gave up 1.5 percent after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) indicated "Official Action" for its Pithampur Unit-2 facility.
