Semiconductor Manufacturing Int'l Q3 Profit Increases

(RTTNews) - Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. (SMI) reported that its third-quarter of 2013 profit attributable to the company rose to $42.5 million from $12.0 million in the prior year quarter. Earnings per ADS for the quarter increased to $0.07 from $0.02 last year.

Revenue including wafer shipments from Wuhan Xinxin was $534.3 million in the third-quarter of 2013, an increase of15.8% year over year. Non-GAAP revenue excluding wafer shipments from Wuhan Xinxin was $503.7 million in the third-quarter of 2013, an increase of 21.7% year over year.

For the fourth-quarter, Revenue including wafer shipments from Wuhan Xinxin is expected to be down 4.5% to down 9% quarter over quarter. Excluding wafer shipments from Wuhan Xinxin which SMIC began gradually phasing out in third-quarter of 2013, non-GAAP revenue is expected to be flat to down 4.5% quarter over quarter.
