Seasoned Audio Industry Visionary and Surround Sound Expert John Kellogg Joins SRS Labs as Executive Director, Corporate Strategy

SRS Labs, Inc. (NASDAQ: SRSL), officially recognized as one of America’s Greatest Brands and the industry leader in surround sound, audio and voice technologies, today announced that John Kellogg, a forward-looking audio and entertainment industry strategist with more than a quarter-century of experience, has been appointed as its Executive Director of Corporate Strategy.

"I am very excited to welcome John Kellogg to SRS as our Executive Director of Corporate Strategy,” said Alan Kraemer, Executive Vice President and CTO for SRS Labs. "John is a highly respected industry expert with tremendous knowledge and extensive connections in the entertainment and CE industries combined with an acclaimed background as a music producer and years of experience working with Hollywood studios, music labels and entertainment companies. We are absolutely delighted to have John as part of our team and look forward to his contributions in our quest to free the industry from the confines of existing channel-based audio processing technologies which effectively limit the creativity of the artists and restrict the way content is produced and consumed across the entire entertainment ecosystem.”

Kellogg joins SRS Labs with more than 25 years of experience in the audio and entertainment industries with ground up experience in CE, film, TV, music and content delivery on physical media, broadcast, the web, and end-to-end solutions. John began his career in the audio industry in the late 80s at Dolby Laboratories and was instrumental in moving that company into a leadership position by developing and evangelizing home theater and facilitating adoption of Dolby multichannel audio tools and standards to CE companies, motion picture studios, broadcasters, music companies and other content developers. In his most recent role as General Manager of Content Relations in Hollywood for Dolby, Kellogg spearheaded Dolby’s efforts in the digital home entertainment segments of the motion picture industry and major music labels, providing guidance and promoting adoption of technologies to create, encode, and deliver movies, music and other content in multichannel surround sound on physical media formats such as DVD and Blu-Ray and web-based digital distribution. Recognizing a lack of music content in 5.1 Surround, John founded Jhana Music Group in 2006 as a preferred destination for 5.1 surround music online, providing music downloads exclusively in 5.1 surround sound.

Kellogg’s mission as Executive Director of Corporate Strategy at SRS is to contribute toward the further expansion of SRS’ presence on the content creation and production side as well as to broaden and secure SRS’ position as a leading innovator and purveyor of a wide range of audio solutions to both the CE and Entertainment industries. With content consumption trending favorably towards streaming, digital downloads, and cloud-based storage, Kellogg will be a key strategic contributor to SRS in driving forward the company’s medium to long term objectives to further expand SRS’ appeal and relevance within both business and consumer applications.

"SRS Labs is a dynamic, exciting company devoted to audio and to bringing natural, immersive surround sound to just about any CE device and product category that provides entertainment to consumers,” said John Kellogg, Executive Director of Business Strategy for SRS Labs. "From my perspective and given the dynamics of how content is viewed and consumed today, SRS is in an amazingly unique position to effectively facilitate a paradigm shift in the way both CE and entertainment industries deal with audio creation, transmission and playback. I am very excited to be joining the company at such an incredible time.”
