SafeNet Chairman Tony Caputo to Keynote at the Federal Financial Institutions Examinations Council Symposium

    BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 10, 2005--SafeNet, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFNT), setting the standard for information security, today announced that SafeNet Chairman and CEO Tony Caputo will present the keynote speech at the Federal Financial Institutions Examinations Council (FFIEC) Symposium on Monday, March 14, 2005, being held at the FDIC - L. William Seidman Center in Arlington, Virginia.
    The FFIEC Symposium will address the problem of identity theft and seeks to provide guidance to the financial services industry on ways to combat and reduce the impact of this issue. Speakers at the symposium will explore the scope of identity theft, the technology and processes used to perform identity theft and look at current and future means to reduce the problem. Mr. Caputo, who will speak at 2:30 pm EST, will provide his expertise and guidance on the matter of identity theft as well as security issues for financial institutions.
    FFIEC is a formal inter-agency body empowered to prescribe uniform principles, standards, and report forms for the federal examination of financial institutions by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (FRB), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) and to make recommendations to promote uniformity in the supervision of financial institutions.
