Romania Animal Rescue's New Video Finds That 2.5 Million Dogs And Countless Cats Are At Risk Of Starvation
BUCHAREST, Romania and LIVERMORE, Calif., March 11, 2020 /CNW/ -- Traveling across Eastern Europe, stray dogs are a common sight in many towns and cities. None more so than Romania, where they are somewhat of an epidemic.
Meet the dogs and cats in Romania, a country the size of Arizona, where street dogs and cats starve, are hit by cars and left to die, are poisoned…have I said enough? Life is terrible for dogs and cats in this Eastern European country.
BUT THAT'S CHANGING.
Many years ago most Romanians lived in small rural villages throughout the countryside. Communist leaders forced them to abandon their animals and were mandated to move into urban high rise Communist block housing in cities where there was employment. Still a poor country, decades later the animal human bond is just beginning.
Learn how one American charity has spared the birth of over 80,000 dogs and cats
*Then came Romania Animal Rescue Inc dba Animal Spay Neuter International, set up in 2003, following a hiking trip that founder Nancy Janes took to this scenic mountainous country. Having witnessed the problem of homeless dogs, she set up a charity to find a solution. Many vets, volunteers, and dedicated animal lovers joined Nancy to make it what it is today. It is now a frontrunner in solving pet overpopulation in Romania and other countries.
In this compelling video you will see the people of Romania, the plight of hungry, injured, often sick animals roaming the streets looking for food and shelter. Witness for yourselves the huge impact this team of animal lovers and all volunteer funding have already made in the reduction of overpopulation all because of a determined American woman who has never looked back.
