Rogers Corp. and IEE S.A. Luxembourg Announce Commercial Agreement on EL/FSR(TM) Products

Rogers Corporation (NYSE:ROG) has entered into anagreement with IEE S.A. for the development and worldwide sales ofelectroluminescent force sensitive resistor ("EL/FSR(TM)") switchproducts. Rogers has exclusive sales, marketing and distributionrights in North America, and IEE has exclusive sales, marketing anddistribution rights in Europe; other areas are non-exclusive for bothcompanies. The Rogers-IEE EL/FSR(TM) illuminated products will be usedin a number of different automotive applications, such as radios, HVACcontrollers and other center stack and overhead buttons and windowlift and mirror switches. The products will also be used in manyconsumer electronics products, including keypads for cellphones, PDAs,GPS systems, etc.

Jurgen Beilfuss, general manager IEE S.A., states: "The Rogers-IEEEL/FSR(TM) product line will provide additional functionality overcompeting switches and technologies. Due to the proportionalactivation of the EL/FSR(TM) products, a single input device canaccomplish several different functions that are easily activated basedon the amount of force applied. As a result, Rogers-IEE EL/FSR(TM)products will reduce space requirements, moving components and costsover traditional switches. Rogers-IEE EL/FSR(TM) products will alsoprovide engineers and designers with new and innovative opportunitiesfor design by integrating several functions into one part that can beshaped to fit many different types of applications."
