Rogers Communications Names Guy Laurence CEO - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Canadian communications and media company Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI.TO, RCI) has appointed Guy Laurence as its President and Chief Executive, effective December 2, 2013. This appointment follows an extensive international search for a CEO to succeed Nadir Mohamed, who announced his intention to retire earlier this year.

Laurence, with 30 years of global experience in telecommunications, pay television and media, is currently the CEO of Vodafone UK, an estimated 11 billion dollar fixed and mobile company. Earlier to that, Laurence held various executive leadership roles at a number of leading media companies, including MGM Studios.

Mohamed would retire when Laurence becomes CEO. He and Laurence would work together with the executive team to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.
