Rogers Communications Names Dirk Woessner President, Consumer Business Unit

(RTTNews) - Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI, RCI_B.TO) said Monday that it has appointed Dirk Woessner as President of its Consumer Business Unit, effective April 6.

Woessner will succeed Rob Bruce, who announced his plan to leave Rogers after more than a decade with the company.

Woessner joins Rogers from Deutsche Telekom AG in Germany where he is responsible for all of their sales and distribution in Germany. Since joining Deutsche Telekom in 2002, he has held a number of leadership positions with Telekom Deutschland and T-Mobile in the UK and Germany. Prior to Deutsche Telekom he worked at McKinsey & Co. in Munich and Madrid from 1997 to 2002, consulting to Europe's leading telecommunications companies.

As President of the Consumer Business Unit, Woessner will be responsible for delivering the company's Consumer business strategy, including product development, sales channel operations, pricing and customer base management. Woessner will report to Rogers CEO Guy Laurence and be a member of the Executive team.
