Reynolds American Inc Reports 55% Gain In Q3 Profit

(RTTNews) - Reynolds American Inc (RAI) reported earnings for its third quarter that increased from last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $781 million, or $0.55 per share. This was up from $505 million, or $0.47 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.55 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 41.1% to $3.16 billion. This was up from $2.24 billion last year.
