Reynolds American Inc Earnings Advance 12% In Q3

(RTTNews) - Reynolds American Inc (RAI) announced a profit for its third quarter that increased from last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $875 million, or $0.61 per share. This was up from $781 million, or $0.55 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.65 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 1.6% to $3.21 billion. This was up from $3.16 billion last year.
