Renowned Pain Management Physician Tobias Moeller-Bertram. M.D. to Open 12th Annual Inland Empire Palliative Pain Conference
RIVERSIDE, Calif., Oct. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Renowned pain management physician Tobias Moeller-Bertram, M.D., will open the 12th Annual Inland Empire Palliative Pain (IEPP) conference, Oct. 24, 1 p.m. at The Mission Inn. Moeller-Bertram, chief medical officer for the Summit Institute, a consortium of multidisciplinary pain clinics in Southern California, will speak about alternative modalities in the management of pain.
"Our goal is to create a healing environment for our patients in a single location using a comprehensive, integrated, and holistic approach so we may help them restore quality of life," said Summit Institute Chief Medical Officer Tobias Moeller-Bertram, M.D. "Our patients come to us because other treatment methods may have failed them, but we know we can offer them an alternative."
Dr. Moeller-Bertram is the chief medical officer for the Summit Institute (Summit) and Desert Clinic Pain Institute, (DCPI) a consortium of multi-disciplinary pain management clinics in the high and low desert from Victorville to Indio. He is double-board certified in anesthesiology and pain management, served as an associate clinical professor of anesthesiology and psychiatry and as the director of clinical pain research at the University of California, San Diego, and is currently an associate clinical professor (voluntary) in family medicine with the University of California Riverside School of Medicine. He has dedicated his life and career to the treatment of patients in chronic pain, including veterans, and the debilitating impact of PTSD. His research has been extensively published and he has presented nationally and internationally at dozens of forums and conferences.
"We have been able to clearly demonstrate that our methodology in the care and treatment of complex patients dramatically reduces their pain and need for pain medication, and ultimately, at less of a cost," said Moeller-Bertram, M.D. "And while reducing the cost is important, what we're doing for our patients, in allowing them to live their lives, is far more important for them, for their families, and for their communities."
Summit and DCPI clinics afford patients access to traditional medicine, but also if eligible, the benefit of a wide range of holistic opportunities such as chiropractic, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, and massage through the Center of Excellence (COE). What makes the COE program unique is that all patient treatment takes place in a single location, which allows for much greater patient provider interaction, consistent conversation, ongoing precise patient evaluation, and ultimately, positive outcomes. More importantly, a community is created that facilitates a deeply integrated personal relationship between the medical staff and patients who work together to eliminate the problem of pain.
Desert Clinic Pain Institute and the Center of Excellence operate three healthcare clinics in Palm Springs, Indio, and Rancho Mirage. The Summit Institute and Center of Excellence operate three clinics in San Jacinto, Hemet, and Victorville. More clinics are in development for California across the U.S.
