RehabCare Appoints Patricia Williams as General Counsel
RehabCare Group, Inc., (NYSE:RHB) announced that it has named Patricia
Williams its new Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate
Secretary. Williams’ appointment ends an
extensive search for a seasoned professional to provide legal oversight
of company strategies, compliance, and operations and business
transactions following the resignation of General Counsel David Groce in
June.
"We're excited to have someone with Patricia’s
qualifications serve as our chief legal advisor," said John H. Short,
Ph.D., RehabCare President and CEO. "Patricia has a strong 14-year track
record representing public companies and an outstanding background in
securities law.”
Williams’ credentials include a mix of
practice with leading international and regional legal firms. Her most
recent position was Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate
Secretary for St. Louis-based Thermadyne Holdings, an international
designer and manufacturer of cutting and welding products. At
Thermadyne, Ms. Williams advised on all SEC reporting activities,
corporate governance and compliance, acquisitions, risk management as
well as routine financial transactions and litigation.
Prior to joining Thermadyne, Ms. Williams was an Associate at the
international law firm of Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal and the
regional firm of Gallop, Johnson & Neuman.
"The Office of General Counsel influences all
aspects of our business, from defining and developing corporate policies
to examining the opportunities and implications of major transactions,"
Dr. Short said. "Patricia’s experience
aligns with the nature and scope of our business activities and current
company strategies."
"Despite operating within a heavily regulated
environment, RehabCare has prospered by listening and responding to the
needs of the marketplace and leading the way in effecting change,”
commented Williams. "I’m
excited to join a team that is focused on delivering exemplary patient
care and unique solutions for healthcare providers and will work to
ensure that RehabCare remains a respected leader in the industry.”
Williams received her B.S. degree in Political Science from Southeast
Missouri State University and her Juris Doctorate from St. Louis
University-School of Law.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, RehabCare (www.rehabcare.com)
is a leading national provider of physical rehabilitation services in
conjunction with nearly 1,250 skilled nursing facilities and hospitals
in 43 states and the District of Columbia. The Company also owns and/or
