Principal Financial Group Q2 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Principal Financial Group Inc. (PFG) Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $222.3 million or $0.75 per share, up from $167.6 million or $0.56 per share in the same period last year.

Operating earnings for the quarter was $271.4 million or $0.91 per share. On average, 20 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.82 per share for the quarter.

Operating revenues improved 8 percent to $2.31 billion from $2.14 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $2.38 billion.

Assets under management, or AUM, totaled $102.9 billion, up 71 percent from $60.3 million last year.
