Primerica Operating Earnings Miss Estimates

(RTTNews) - Insurer Primerica Inc. (PRI) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net earnings of $49.2 million or $0.94 per share compared with $49.3 million or $0.89 per share last year.

Excluding items, operating earnings for the quarter were $0.93 per share compared with $0.88 per share a year ago. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.94 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues for the quarter were up at $350.9 million compared with $331.1 million in the prior year. Analysts estimated revenues of $347.7 million.
