Pre-market Movers For July 22 (BA, WHR, THOR, AAPL, MSFT, YHOO, BIIB)

Boeing Co. (BA) is rising 2 percent to $147.66. The company's second quarter earnings declined from the year-ago quarter, while its core earnings per share topped Street view. Total revenues also came above the consensus estimate. The company backed its revenue outlook for 2015, but lowered its core earnings per share guidance to reflect the impact of KC-46 Tanker charge.

Whirlpool Corp. (WHR) is gaining 4 percent to $173.54. The company's profit declined from the year-ago quarter, while its adjusted earnings per share topped market estimate. Net sales for the quarter improved 11 percent. The company backed its full-year ongoing business earnings per share guidance.

Thoratec Corp. (THOR) is up percent to $62.76 based on the news that St. Jude Medical (STJ) has agreed to acquire the company for $63.50 per share in a cash transaction valued at approximately $3.4 billion, net of cash acquired.

Decliners:

Apple Inc. (AAPL) is falling 7 percent to $121.88. The company's third quarter earnings and net sales surged from the year-ago quarter and topped Wall Street view. iPhone unit sales improved 35 percent on year, but declined 22 percent sequentially. At the same time, the company guided its fourth quarter revenue below the consensus estimate.

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) is down 3 percent to $45.59 and Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) is declining 2 percent to $38.75 following the release of their quarterly results.

Biogen Inc. (BIIB) is falling 4 percent to $390.16. The company announced 54-week data from Phase 1b placebo-controlled study of aducanumab (BIIB037) showed statistically significant reduction of beta amyloid in the brain. In exploratory analyses, the 6 mg/kg dose showed an improvement in the slowing of clinical decline, as measured by the MMSE and CDR-SB scales, which was not statistically significant.
