Portland General Electric Company Earnings Advance 20% In Q1

(RTTNews) - Portland General Electric Company (POR) revealed a profit for its first quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $73 million, or $0.82 per share. This was higher than $61 million, or $0.68 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.84 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 8.8% to $530 million. This was up from $487 million last year.
