Polygons, the World's First Four-in-one Measuring Spoon, Raises over $900,000 on Kickstarter With Two Days Remaining
WILMINGTON, Del., Nov. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Polygons is a measuring spoon that lays flat when not in use and folds to four different measurements depending on where the user picks it up from. The innovative measuring spoon is currently accepting pre-orders on Kickstarter and has since surpassed its funding goal by 9,000 percent.

Polygons measuring spoons come in a set of one teaspoon and one tablespoon. The teaspoon set can fold into ¼, ½, ¾ and one teaspoon and the tablespoon can fold into ½, 1, 1 ½ and 2 tablespoons. The measuring spoons are designed to withstand years of continuous use because of the strong PP and TPR plastic used to create the hinges.
"Since we launched last month on Kickstarter, we have seen the campaign steadily climb to where we are now, and it is amazing to see the amount of interest, support, and feedback we are receiving from the backers," Polygons founder Rahul Agarwal said. "The additional resources have allowed us to bolster the product's quality and we're currently working internally to try and bring cup sizes as an option to everyone in the future."
After scooping sticky, hard-to-measure, viscous ingredients, Polygons can be flattened so that every last drop can be scraped off and used. Polygons can also measure dry ingredients, such as flour, salt and baking soda, or liquids such as water and oil. These materials also make clean-up easy because water does not splash out like traditional bowl-shaped measuring spoons. Polygons can be hand washed and are dishwasher-safe. The materials (PP & TPR) are FDA-grade and BPA-free.
Since launching on Kickstarter, Agarwal has been able to introduce various stretch goals to backers. The first was the addition of metric units to the spoon. This stretch goal was unlocked when the campaign hit $150,000. The second stretch goal was introduced when the campaign hit $200,000 and was for a new color option called "Hell's Kitchen Black". At $500,000, Polygons unlocked the "Kickstarter Edition" color option. Purple, green and blue Polygons colors were also unlocked when the campaign reached the milestones of $525,000, $550,000 and $575,000.
Not only is Polygons ideal for measuring all types of liquids, but Polygons can be used to measure and spread food such as jelly and butter. Additionally, Polygons can be stored in a cookbook for use as a bookmark.
Polygons can be pre-ordered on Kickstarter for two more days starting at $12 for one set. To learn more or to pre-order, visit bit.ly/PolygonsKS.
About Polygons
Polygons was created in 2014 by Rahul Agarwal. An India native, Agarwal is an inventor, designer and a teacher. He's worked on products ranging from the simplest of stationery to complex head-up display systems. As a design student at a renowned Indian university, he was given this advice by a senior – "Do not tackle designs that have reached the final stage of their evolution. For example, a spoon". From that point on, Agarwal dedicated his efforts to reinventing the wheel when it came to this object, and the idea for Polygons was born. After extensively testing with various shapes and materials, he arrived at an optimal solution. Over the past three years, Polygons has won various design awards and thousands have expressed interest in the invention. For the inventor in Agarwal, there could be no greater satisfaction than to see people using what he had created, so he got to task.
