Plantronics Q3 Profit Up - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Plantronics, Inc. (PLT) Monday reported third-quarter profit of $34.38 million or $0.80 per share, up from $28.21 million or $0.66 per share in the same period last year.

Operating income for the quarter was $43.9 million or $0.76 per share. On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.63 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues improved 7.8 percent to $212.7 million from $197.4 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $205.50 million.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, the company has forecast earnings in the order of $0.52 to $0.58 per share, with adjusted earnings ranging between $0.62 and $0.68 per share.

Revenues are projected in the range of $200 million to $210 million. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $0.70 per share on fourth-quarter revenues of $205.36 million.
