Personnel Changes in Celanese Management: Andreas Pohlmann to Leave at the End of 2006

Celanese Corporation (NYSE:CE) (FWB:CZZ): Dr. AndreasPohlmann (48), executive vice president and chief administrativeofficer of Celanese Corporation, will leave the chemical company bymutually amicable consent at the end of the 2006. He will also resignas chairman of the management board of Celanese AG at that time.

Andreas Pohlmann has been a member of the global executivemanagement team since the founding of Celanese Corporation. Moreover,he was named chairman of the management board of Celanese AG onNovember 1, 2004. His primary responsibility was the company'sreorganization in Germany, which was successfully completed uponapproval of the squeeze-out by the company's annual general meeting onMay 30, 2006. The company plans on successfully delisting the CelaneseAG share in the second half of 2006.

"Andreas Pohlmann held a number of key positions in Celanese sinceit was demerged from Hoechst, and thus played a major role in shapingand realigning the company. We thank him for his many years ofexcellent service to our company," said David Weidman, president andchief executive officer of Celanese Corporation.

The decision on leadership succession at Celanese AG will be madein connection with the squeeze-out and the ensuing reorganization ofthe company's legal structure.
