(RTTNews) - Paychex, Inc. (PAYX) reported second-quarter net income of $173.0 million, or $0.47 per share, compared to $158.7 million, or $0.43 per share in the comparable quarter last year. On average, 23 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.46 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total service revenue increased by 10% to $665.9 million from $606.4 million, reported last year. Year-over-year, quarterly total revenue were $676.3 million, up 10% from $616.4 million. Analysts projected revenues of $673.93 million for the period.

Looking forward, the company still expects fiscal 2015 net income to grow 6% to 8% from the fiscal 2014 level.
