Packaging Corp. Of America Q4 Profit Surges - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Packaging Corporation of America (PKG) Tuesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $227 million or $2.33 per share, up from $61.0 million or $0.63 per share in the same period last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter were $101 million or $1.04 per share. On average, eight analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.87 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Sales jumped to $1.26 billion from $736.6 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $1.23 billion.

Looking ahead to the first quarter, the company has forecast earnings in the range of $1.00 to $1.05 per share. Analysts currently expect first-quarter earnings of $0.92 per share.
