Packaging Corp. of America Profit Advances 2% In Q2

(RTTNews) - Packaging Corp. of America (PKG) revealed earnings for its second quarter that increased from last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $117.7 million, or $1.25 per share. This was higher than $115.6 million, or $1.18 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.18 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 2.1% to $1.42 billion. This was down from $1.45 billion last year.
