Pacific Drilling Shareholders Strengthen the Board with Two New Independent Directors

PACIFIC DRILLING S.A. (NYSE: PACD) announced today that its shareholders have recently appointed two new independent members of the company’s Board of Directors, increasing the size of the Board to nine members.

Mr. Robert Schwed is a partner in Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP and has approximately 40 years of corporate finance transactions experience. He is also an adjunct professor at George Washington University School of Law, where he teaches a course in venture capital law.

Mr. Sami Iskander is the Executive Vice President, Operations at BG Group. Prior to joining BG Group, Mr. Iskander spent his career with Schlumberger, where he fulfilled a number of key leadership roles, with assignments in Latin America, the USA, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, culminating in his role as President, Drilling and Measurements.

Chairman Ron Moskovitz commented, "We are pleased to welcome Mr. Schwed and Mr. Iskander to our Board of Directors. The depth and relevance of their experience will further enhance our Board’s industry expertise and oversight of the company.”

Mr. Schwed and Mr. Iskander were appointed at the May 13, 2013, Annual General Meeting and the September 2, 2013, Extraordinary General Meeting, respectively. The terms of both Directors will end at the annual general meeting of shareholders to be held in 2014.
