Ossia Named as CES 2017 Best of Innovation Awards Honoree
BELLEVUE, Wash., Jan. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ossia, maker of the revolutionary Cota™ wireless power technology, today announced that the company has been named a CES 2017 Best of Innovation Awards Honoree for its groundbreaking CotaTM Tile product. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 28 product categories.
Cota Tile delivers real wireless power without plugs and pads. Built to replace a standard ceiling tile, Cota Tile can charge dozens of electronic devices within a several foot radius. From offices and hospitals to coffee shops and homes, Cota Tile makes power as convenient, safe, and invisible as wireless internet. Each Cota Tile contains 300 wireless power antennas that automatically power devices.
Cota Tile is inherently safe, environmentally friendly, and does not interfere with Wi-Fi or other wireless technologies while continuously streaming power to multiple devices, even as they move around a room. Cota power receivers are small enough to be embedded in into smartphones or standard-size batteries or other aftermarket accessories.
"Cota Tile's unique engineering qualities make wireless power continuous, automatic, safe, and applicable to a wide range of devices," said Hatem Zeine, Chief Technology Officer at Ossia. "The Cota Tile looks just like a standard ceiling tile, so it's virtually invisible. Users simply swap a ceiling tile with a Cota Tile, connect it to a power source, and turn the device on. From there, users can connect and manage Cota Tile using the Cota Cloud. We're excited about showing CES attendees how this incredible technology works."
The prestigious CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)TM, the producer of CES 2017, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.
Entries are evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function and user value, unique/novel features present and how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace. Products chosen as CES Best of Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most cutting edge tech products and services coming to market.
CES 2017 Innovation Honoree products are featured on CES.tech/Innovation, which lists product categories, as well as each product name, manufacturer information, description, photo and URL. To learn more about Ossia and its leading-edge Cota technology, please visit www.ossia.com.
