Omnova Solutions Swings To Profit In Q1

(RTTNews) - Omnova Solutions Inc. (OMN) Wednesday announced first quarter net profit of $3.6 million compared to loss of $1.1 million last year. On a per share basis, the company recorded $0.08 compared to loss of $0.03 in the previous year. On an adjusted basis, earnings were $0.05 per share. On average, three analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.05 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items. Net sales for the quarter slipped to $174.6 million from $175.3 million a year ago. Wall Street was looking for revenue of $169.7 million.
