Old Dominion Freight Line Q2 EPS Up 21%

(RTTNews) - Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. (ODFL) announced an 21.8 percent increase in second quarter net income to $58.3 million from $47.8 million last year. Earnings per share rose 21.4 percent to $0.68 from $0.56.

On average, 19 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.64 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Revenue was up 8 percent to $590.2 million from $546.5 million in the prior year.The company recorded a 5.6 percent increase in tonnage from the prior year. Analysts expected revenue of $580.17 million.
