Oil States Q4 Results Surpass Estimates

(RTTNews) - Oil States International Inc (OIS), a provider of specialty products and services to natural resources companies, on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $58.5 million or $1.10 per share. This compares with a profit of $74.8 million or $1.35 per share last year, when it recorded a $38.7 million gain from discontinued operations.

The company's revenues for the quarter were higher at $483.7 million compared with $421.3 million in the prior year, driven by growth across all segments.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.99 per share on revenues of $472.5 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

In January 2015, Oil States acquired Montgomery Machine, a company that combines machining and proprietary cladding technology to manufacture high-specification components for the offshore capital equipment industry.
