Oglethorpe Power Re-Elects Smith And Millwood As Officers

ATLANTA, March 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Oglethorpe Power Corporation Board of Directors has re-elected Bobby C. Smith, Jr. of Rocky Ford, Ga. as its chairman and Marshall S. Millwood of Gainesville, Ga. as vice chairman.  The election took place at a board meeting following Oglethorpe Power's annual meeting.

Smith was first elected as board chairman in 2015 and Millwood assumed the vice chairman's office in 2012.  The two will serve in their officers' positions for one year.

Smith is an at-large member director of the Oglethorpe Power Board and is also a member of the Planters Electric Membership Corporation Board of Directors in Millen, Ga.  Millwood is a member of the Sawnee EMC Board in Cumming, Ga. and also serves as an at-large member director of the Oglethorpe Power Board.

Board members who were re-elected at the annual meeting include, Bobby Smith, Planters EMC, member at-large director; Jim White, Snapping Shoals EMC, member director; Tony Ham, Okefenoke REMC, member director; Danny Nichols, Colquitt EMC, manager director; and Chip Jakins, Jackson EMC, manager director.
