MTS Systems Q3 Profit Rises; Cuts High-end Of FY13 Earnings Outlook

(RTTNews) - MTS Systems Corp. (MTSC) Monday reported third-quarter net income of $11.5 million, or $0.72 per share, compared to $9.6 million or $0.59 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

On average, two analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.84 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Meanwhile, revenue for the quarter rose to $135.06 million from $141.70 million in the year-ago period.

For the full fiscal year, the company expects earnings of $3.30 to $3.60 per share, compared to its previous range of $3.30 to $3.70 per share. Analysts currently expect full year 2013 earnings of $3.45 per share.

Revenue is expected to grow 4 to 6 percent or $560 to $575 million. Analysts now expect fiscal year revenue of $562.27 million.
