Motorola Solutions Q4 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Motorola Solutions, Inc. (MSI) reported that its fourth-quarter net earnings attributable to company increased to $343 million or $1.31 per share, from $336 million or $1.18 per share, prior year. Non-GAAP earnings per share from continuing operations was $1.67 for the quarter.

On average, 17 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit profit per share of $1.62 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total sales were $2.50 billion, compared to $2.44 billion, a year ago. Analysts expected revenue of $2.49 billion for the quarter.

Motorola Solutions' outlook for the first quarter of 2014 is for revenue decline of 4 percent to 6 percent compared with the first quarter of 2013 and Non-GAAP earnings per share from continuing operations of $0.46 to $0.52 per share. Analysts expect the company to report first-quarter profit per share of $0.77.

For the full-year 2014, the company expects revenue growth of flat to 2 percent compared with 2013 and Non-GAAP operating earnings of approximately 18.5 percent of sales.
