Motorola Solutions Inc. Q3 Earnings Advance 13%

(RTTNews) - Motorola Solutions Inc. (MSI) released a profit for its third quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $292 million, or $0.82 per share. This was up from $259 million, or $0.62 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.73 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 1.4% to $1.42 billion. This was down from $1.44 billion last year.
