Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Hosts Latino-Focused Seminar on Family in Business: Transfer & Transition
Morgan Stanley Smith Barney announced today that it will be hosting a symposium on estate planning and wealth transfer, in partnership with the New America Alliance: An American Latino Business Initiative, at JW Marriott at L.A. LIVE on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney is pleased to offer this event in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month.
The presentation will be geared to family business owners, with a particular emphasis on Latino entrepreneurs. It is designed to look at some of the critical concerns of family business owners as they consider succession planning and focus on issues about family and legacy, as well as dealing with the demands of a business.
The event, hosted by Robert Perry, Managing Director, Los Angeles Metro Regional Director, will have a market update by Ernesto de la Fé, Managing Director and Head of Latin America Private Wealth Management for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. The feature presentation will be delivered by Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s Glenn Kurlander, Managing Director, Family Governance and Dynamics Unit and Robert Seaberg, Managing Director, Planning Services Group.

The event, which is open to the public with advance registration, will feature keynote speaker Moctesuma Esparza, chairman and CEO, Maya Cinemas North America, Inc., with an introduction by Maria del Pilar Avila, CEO, New America Alliance.
An award-winning producer, entertainment executive, entrepreneur and community activist, Moctesuma Esparza is well known for his contributions to the movie industry and commitment to creating opportunities for Latinos everywhere. Esparza is a partner in the highly successful Esparza-Katz Productions with Robert Katz, and has received numerous awards and honors including being named one of the 50 "Most Powerful and Influential Latinos” of 2008 by The Imagen Foundation.
