Monsanto Co. Q2 Income Climbs 32%

(RTTNews) - Monsanto Co. (MON) released earnings for its second quarter that advanced compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $1.41 billion, or $3.19 per share. This was up from $1.07 billion, or $2.42 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $2.79 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 11.9% to $5.07 billion. This was up from $4.53 billion last year.
