MKS Instruments Results Top Estimate; Outlook Strong

(RTTNews) - MKS Instruments Inc (MKSI) Wednesday reported third-quarter net earnings of $29 million or $0.55 per share compared with $2.5 million or $0.05 per share last year.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.43 per share compared with $0.25 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter were $187 million compared with $166 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.36 per share on revenues of $181 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, the company expects adjusted earnings of $0.42 to $0.53 per share on revenues of $185 million to $200 million. Analysts expect earnings of $0.40 per share on revenues of $190.8 million.
