Marlon Young to Head HSBC Private Bank U.S. Domestic Expansion
"Marlon brings more than 27 years of in-depth market experience tohelp further the private bank's expansion efforts in U.S.," saidGerard Aquilina. "He will work with our team of highly skilleddomestic private bankers to achieve much closer collaboration with ourpartners in tax, investment banking, corporate and commercial bankingand personal financial services as HSBC continues to grow itsfootprint nationwide."
Young joins HSBC after 27 years at Citigroup where most recentlyhe was the head of private client lending at Smith Barney. He has heldvarious leadership roles including head of the Northeast region forCitigroup Private Bank, head of investment finance and senior creditofficer for the U.S. Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Hisinternational private banking experience encompasses assignments asteam head of the Hong Kong ultra high net worth segment and globalmarkets manager for Thailand. Young also has extensive corporatebanking experience covering the commercial real estate, automotive andenergy industries.
Young holds a Master's degree in business management from theAsian Institute of Management in Manila, Philippines and is fluent inEnglish, Tagalog and Mandarin.
