ManTech Awarded $13.5 Million Contract to Provide Training and Logistics Support Services at Fort Knox

    Business Editors/Defense Writers

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 12, 2005--ManTech International Corporation (Nasdaq:MANT), a leading provider of innovative technologies and solutions focused on mission-critical national security programs for the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, the Department of State, the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security and other U.S. federal government customers, announced today that it has been awarded a $13.5 million contract to support the U.S. Army Directorate of Plans, Training and Mobilization, Fort Knox, Kentucky. ManTech will provide services for training and facilities management activities. Fort Knox is home to the U.S. Army Armor Center, Armor School and other units.
The competitively awarded contract has a one-year base, and four, one-year, option years - for a total potential value to ManTech of $13.5 million. ManTech will support facilities management, logistics operations and training at Fort Knox- which includes the Army's sophisticated Urban Warfare Training Center. Under the contract, ManTech is a subcontractor to EPS, a New Jersey company that provides global technology, security and network solutions. The training center is an automated, state-of-the-art depiction of a small city, complete with collapsing bridges and "blow-out" roofs that help soldiers to prepare for urban conflicts.
"This contract allows us to expand our work at Fort Knox, particularly in training support," said Eugene C. Renzi, President of ManTech's Defense Systems Group. "Facilities such as Fort Knox, which offers training for urban warfare, are providing critical services as our armed forces personnel wage battles in many urban environments around the world. We are proud to support this effort which plays a vital role in our nation's national security."
In addition to the training support activities at Fort Knox, ManTech also provides training in information system security for a variety of organizations in the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community, and other training for the Navy, Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Air Force Air Combat Command, Defense Logistics Agency and the Defense Information Systems Agency.
