Manchester United Turns To Profit In Q4; Revenue Up 30.8% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Manchester United (MANU) reported fourth-quarter profit of 24.2 million pounds or 14.74 pence per share compared to a loss of 957 thousand pounds or 0.58 pence per share, prior year. Fourth-quarter adjusted EBITDA increased 41.2% to 69.6 million pounds from 49.3 million pounds. Adjusted earnings per share was 13.94 pence compared to 5.30 pence.

Fourth-quarter revenue increased to 175.9 million pounds from 134.5 million pounds, prior year. For the quarter, commercial revenue was 67.9 million pounds, an increase of 4.1% over the prior year quarter. Broadcasting revenue was 81.1 million pounds, up 70.0%. Matchday revenue increased 24.5%.

Fiscal 2017 adjusted EBITDA increased 4.1% to 199.8 million pounds from 191.9 million pounds, prior year. Total revenue was 581.2 million pounds, an increase of 12.8%.

For fiscal 2018, Manchester United expects: revenue to be in the range of 575 to 585 million pounds; and adjusted EBITDA to be in a range of 175 to 185 million pounds.
