Manchester United Q2 Profit, Revenue Up - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - English football club Manchester United Plc. (MANU) Wednesday said second-quarter net income attributable to owners of the parent climbed to 19.04 million pounds 16.13 million pounds in the prior year.
Earnings per share improved to 11.62 pence from 9.85 pence.
In the just concluded quarter, the firm recorded exceptional items of 0.3 million pounds related to investment property impairment charges.
Exceptional items for the prior year quarter were 0.8 million pounds, related to professional advisor fees in connection with the company's initial public offering.
Adjusted profit totaled 19.8 million pounds or 12.08 pence per share, while it totaled 19.0 million pounds or 11.60 pence per share last year.
Pre-tax profit advanced to 30.34 million pounds from 28.36 million pounds.
Total revenue increased to 122.93 million pounds from 110.06 million pounds in the prior year.
Ed Woodward, Executive Vice Chairman, said, "We once again achieved a record revenue quarter with strong contributions from our commercial and broadcasting businesses despite the current league position, which everyone from the Team Manager down has acknowledged is disappointing.''
For fiscal 2014, Manchester United continues to expect revenue to be 420 million pounds to 430 million pounds and adjusted Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization or EBITDA to be 128 million pounds to 133 million pounds.
