Macrovision's FLEXnet Connect Keeps Software Producers and Customers Connected

Macrovision(R) Corporation (Nasdaq:MVSN) today announcedsignificant enhancements to its FLEXnet Update Service technology. Thenew product, now called FLEXnet Connect, allows software producers toreduce operational and support costs, streamline customercommunication, improve marketing and focus development on the featuresand elements most important to their customers.

Software vendors have difficulty communicating with customersabout their software once their products have been installed at thecustomer's site. With FLEXnet Connect 6, software producers can meetthis challenge and establish more valuable customer relationships byconnecting directly with their customers through the software theysell.

FLEXnet Connect's embedded software agent enables softwareproducers to create electronic connections with their customers todeliver applications, patches, updates and messages directly to usersor their administrators while simultaneously gathering anonymous usagedata. By connecting with customers in this way, software producersgain a competitive advantage measured in improved customersatisfaction, more effective product support and real-timeintelligence about how customers use their software.

FLEXnet Connect determines whether a customer is entitled toreceive software through links to the software producer's back-officesystems, including customer relationship management (CRM) applicationsand Macrovision's own FLEXnet Operations entitlement managementsystem.
