M4D3 Shoes Teams Up with First Book to Provide Books to Kids, Educators in Low Income Communities

NEW YORK, Feb. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Make A Difference Everyday (M4D3), the shoe company that supports social causes through the sale of their collections, has announced that they will partner with the nonprofit social enterprise First Book this spring.  Available at retail and online (www.m4d3shoes.com), this newM4D3 collection will support First Book's efforts to provide children in need with access to books across North America.

With every sale of the 2017 spring and summer collection, M4D3 will donate two books to be distributed through the First Book National Book Bank, a program that provides relevant and affordable books to educators in low-income communities. This M4D3 "One=Two" campaign will extend through 2017, with a goal to distribute thousands of books, and support First Book's effort to transform lives by improving access to equal, quality education.

Founded in 1992, First Book has distributed more than 160 million books and educational resources to programs and schools serving children from low-income families.

"Too many low-income communities simply don't have the resources to provide children with access to books; and teachers in classrooms and programs often spend hundreds of dollars of their own money to try to provide what their students need," said Kyle Zimmer, president and CEO of First Book. "Through our partnership with M4D3, we can provide new, high quality books and educational resources on an ongoing basis to these educators. Together we can make a difference."

Said Scott Kaminsky, President of M4D3 Shoes, "First Book does amazing work and has provided millions of kids with the tools they need to learn and thrive.  We at M4D3 are thrilled to introduce this campaign. This new collection will allow the consumer to make a difference with every purchase."
