L'Oreal Q1 Sales 1.8%
(RTTNews) - Cosmetics and beauty products giant L'Oreal Co., (LRLCY.PK) on Monday said its first-quarter sales rose 1.8 percent, as revenues grew across all divisions.
Sales for the quarter rose to €6.55 billion from €6.44 billion last year. Like-for-like sales were up 4.2 percent.
"The Group made a solid start in the first quarter, with growth in all our divisions and geographic zones: the Consumer Products Division accelerated at the start of the year, recording its best quarter for almost three years. L'Oréal Luxe started the year well in line with expectations, despite a difficult comparison base in Hong Kong and in the Travel Retail channel, and is continuing to roll out its brand portfolio worldwide. Sales in the Professional Products and Active Cosmetics Divisions should strengthen over the coming quarters," said CEO Jean-Paul Agon.
Professional products division inched up 0.2 percent, while consumer products unit increased 0.9 percent. L'Oréal Luxe grew 4.4 percent, while active cosmetics were up 0.3 percent.
