Local South Burlington dealership sees success in November food drive
SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt., Dec. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Before Thanksgiving, Heritage Toyota, a local South Burlington dealership, hosted a food drive. According to the dealership, the food drive saw great success. Heritage Toyota promised to donate frozen turkeys during the Queen City Saints' annual "Flip Hunger the Bird" turkey drive for each pound of food donated during its food drive before the Thanksgiving holiday.
Overall, Heritage Toyota donated over 2,600 pounds of food to the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf. After that, Heritage Toyota with Heritage Ford donated $1,000 worth of turkeys to the Queen City Saints, which came out to 80 turkeys donated. The Queen City Saints dropped off 435 turkeys, totaling over 7,000 pounds of food which became the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf's largest donation in history.
Heritage Toyota is extremely proud of its success during its food drive and thanks all of the customers for donating during the Thanksgiving food drive event.
