Local First Responders are Used to Working Together, but to Help a Local Charity, They're Going to be Putting on the Boxing Gloves and Fighting for Pride

ALBUQUERQUE , N.M., Feb. 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The "Brawl On The Bosque" pits area police officers against the local firefighters on Saturday, February 9th at Isleta Resort and Casino's all-new showroom. Scheduled are 12 boxing matches, featuring both men and women from local police, fire and correctional departments. Proceeds for the event support Ten-82, a non-profit source for local first responders in times of need.

The Brawl on the Bosque boxers represent the Rio Rancho Police and Fire Departments, the Metro Detention Center, the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office and Fire Departments, the New Mexico State Police, Albuquerque Fire Rescue, Fire Departments from Sandoval County and Las Cruces, and the New Mexico State Penitentiary.

The Main Event features Bernalillo County Sheriff's Officer Wesley Buster versus Rio Rancho Fire Dept's Alex Bartra. These two have fought on two previous occasions with Buster winning both by close decisions. This highly anticipated fight promises to be a barnburner because Firefighter Bartra is very hungry for a win this year.

Event promoter Pete Camacho expects an action-packed night of boxing. "Bragging rights are on the line," he said. "All of these boxers are committed to bring a quality event while also raising money for their brothers and sisters. They've been training hard and there will be many of their co-workers in attendance to cheer them on."

Tickets start at just $25 and are available at the Isleta Casino Box Office or online at http://www.isleta.com. The first bell is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
