Lincoln Financial Advisors Appoints Greg Smith Managing Principal

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Lincoln Financial Network (LFN), the retail sales and financial planning affiliate of Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE: LNC), today announced that Greg Smith has been appointed Managing Principal of Lincoln Financial Advisors Corp. (LFA), serving as market leader in the Minneapolis area. In this capacity, Smith will lead efforts to widen LFA's footprint in this region and grow market share.

Smith will report to Mike May, Managing Director of Lincoln Financial Advisors' Midwest regional planning group, which includes the Minneapolis regional offices.

Smith brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry to his new role. Prior to joining Lincoln Financial Advisors, Smith served as senior vice president and channel head at several firms including Crump Life Insurance Services in Schaumberg, IL, Sun Life Financial in Boston, MA, ING in Minneapolis, MN, and Lincoln Financial Distributors in Philadelphia, PA.

Smith earned a bachelor of business administration in banking and finance from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, as well as a master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago in Chicago, IL.  He holds FINRA registrations including series 7 and 24.
