Liberty Global In Talks To Buy Cable & Wireless

(RTTNews) - Liberty Global plc (LBTYA, LBTYB, LBTYK, LILA , LILAK) confirms that it is in discussions with the board of CWC regarding a possible offer for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Cable & Wireless Communications Plc (CWC).

Cable & Wireless also confirms talks regarding a possible cash-and-stock offer by Liberty. CWC said that Shareholders are advised to take no action. There can be no certainty that any firm offer will be made nor as to the terms on which any firm offer might be made.

In London, Cable & Wireless surged 20.69 percent on Thursday to close at 70 pence.
